10th Pension Adalat 85 Pensioner Grievances Redressed The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW) organized the 10th Pension Adalat on 22nd February 2024, under the auspices of Hon’ble Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh—the event aimed at resolving pensioner grievances promptly and efficiently.

- Pension Adalats serve as platforms for multi-stakeholder engagement, facilitating on-the-spot solutions.
- The 10th Pension Adalat emphasized resolving long-standing Family Pension Cases, ensuring justice and support for retirees and their families.
Key Highlights
- 105 Grievances Addressed: The Pension Adalat addressed 105 pensioner grievances that had been pending for over 100 days.
- Wide Participation: Twelve Ministries/Departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Defence Finance, and Ministry of Railways, participated in the event.
- 85 Cases Resolved: Out of the listed grievances, 85 cases were successfully resolved on the spot, showcasing the effectiveness of the Adalat in delivering justice to pensioners.
Success Stories
- Smt. Anita Kanik Rani’s Struggle Resolved: Smt. Anita Kanik Rani, the widow of the Late Bhagwan Das, faced hurdles in receiving family pension and retirement dues. However, her grievance was addressed during the Adalat, and she was assured of receiving approximately Rs. 22 Lakhs arrears.
- Smt. Nirmala Devi Receives Revised PPO: Smt. Nirmala Devi, the wife of the Late Kishan Singh, tirelessly pursued the revision of her PPO as per the 7th CPC. Her efforts bore fruit after registering a grievance, leading to the issuance of the revised PPO and pending arrears.
- Smt. Geeta Devi’s Lifelong Pension Arrear: Smt. Geeta Devi, mother of Late Ct(GD) Kumar Chandan Singh, faced challenges in revising her PPO and receiving pension arrears. Following her grievance, the BSF assured the issuance of the revised PPO and the timely disbursement of pension arrears.
- Smt. Madhuri Devi’s Struggle with Assam Rifles: Smt.During the Adalat, Assam Rifles acknowledged Madhuri Devi’s quest for a family pension and arrears. The issuance of the SSA by CPAO promises the payment of arrears and pension through the Nepal Embassy.
- Smt. Supriya Shailja’s Medical Claim Settled: Despite repeated submissions, Smt. Supriya Shailja faced delays in reimbursing her medical claim. However, her grievance led to the settlement of Rs. 8 Lakhs, with an additional Rs. 3 Lakhs under process.
